Even though over the knee wasnt a position used in our home, had a view that i very much associated with getting smacked.

When handing out the yardstick Dad most the time set a dining chair against the wall with back facing towards the room. Made a solid base with the offending boy bent over the back with hands either gripping arms or palms on seat.

Meant i got whacked heaps of times with my face only a foot or two from the living room wall.

In these moments my entire world consisted of.

1. That creamy coloured wall was only think i could see, made blury from the tears in my eyes

2. Trying to cope with the searing pain from the huge yardstick whacks that were landing
