I grew up with my dad's belt and my grandma's brush if I acted up other there. I had some cousins who I know got my aunt's sandal (I came close a couple of times but never got that from her).

My husband's parents apparently just used whatever was close that they thought got the job done and he never knew what he was getting spanked with until it started. He said he hated getting in trouble outside and getting taken to the garage because the really weird stuff was there. His dad installed doors and he said he might get spanked with a piece of door trim used like a paddle. He said the worse was this rubber stripping his dad always had scraps of that he said hurt worse than a belt but somehow left almost no marking.

Like his dad would spank him longer with this because it barely looked like it was doing anything while all the while he felt like he was on fire.
