I had a single dad from about 11 onwards. It happened a lot with me when I was in my teens. My dad believed in making sure we felt ashamed of our behavior. My brothers and I all had to do it this way. Dad would make the offending son take his pants/shorts and underwear right off, fold them up, and then he would grab his ear and lift upwards so he was on his toes and looking right into dad’s face for the lecture. It was both very uncomfortable and embarrassing because dad would let my brothers watch.
