In my family growing up, Momma did most of the spanking. She had to put up with our nonsense the most and she didn't think it was fair to make us wait and then tell Daddy to spank us. He works hard everyday and she didn't want him to have to come home, to "Your son or daughter needs a good spanking"

Also she didn't want us to be afraid of him. I've known some of the "Wait till your Daddy gets home types" and it got to the point they dreaded their Daddy coming home from work even when they weren't in trouble because he was the one who dished out the whoopins. To put yourself in your Daddy's place, how would you feel going home every day not knowing whether or not your kids had gotten in trouble today and you were gonna have to spank them"? Or knowing your kids are afraid of you because you're the one who gives all the spankings?

My brother, sister and I always looked forward to Daddy pulling up in the driveway after work. If we had gotten in trouble during the day, he often didn't know anything about it until after Supper. Because Momma didn't want to spoil the family's supper time.
