 My mother did the spanking when we were younger children, and my father when we were older. Waiting til your father comes home was not a problem because there were very few such times. Maybe 99 days out of a hundred my dad did not have to spank anyone when he got home, and maybe not even that often. I didn't keep track, but there was no reason to ever fear what he was going to do unless we had done something really bad. If kids are afraid of a parent on a normal day, something is terribly wrong.
