Oh, yeah, I remember the chickenpox. Awful time. I think that parents that don't let their kids get vaccinated against this "childhood" disease are guilty of child abuse. My mom threatened to tape a paper bag over my hands if I didn't stop scratching and that would have prevented me from reading comic books (computers were way in the future) and that would have left me with nothing to do except stare at the ceiling and suffer - unearned cornertime laying down! But I couldn't stand the itch so I cheated. I got at towel, stripped to my underpants, and dried myself off - vigorously! I hid the towel under the bed covers so my mom wouldn't confiscate it and to blazes with permanent scaring (there wasn't any). I justified being only in my undies because the "cool air eased the itch". Yeah, sure. I would have agreed to get a spanking twice a day for a week rather than undergo that torture! Kids today don't know how lucky they are.
