Hi Dave, this was a conversation from long ago but the context was when was the first time you saw the opposite sex (not related to you) naked? A newlywed type conversation, lol. She did say it was her first time seeing a boy with pubic hair and a larger crotch area. Here previous point of reference was her little brother.

So, it was significant enough of an event for her to remember the details years later.

It was common at that time to believe girls did not have their awakening to the opposite sex until much later. From what I can tell, nothing could be further from the truth! This same concept plays in to the locker room thread that was just started.

The "don't be silly, she's just a little girl" comment was reserved for males who protested. Did you or your friend protest regarding his sister's presence? Was mom there too? If you complied, nothing would be said because it was "normal".

Oh yes there were several events that fit the profile though there was one where the shoe was on the other foot.

In the case of my friend, I think he and his brother were most annoyed and did the most protesting. I got the impression she wanted to see them more of a power thing like " ha I can see you and you cant see me!" She was more interested in me and sometimes there would be another boy that would change with us so she got to see him too.

I noticed if you turned your back she would maneuver herself to be able to view your penis lol. It was clear what she waves to see.

Anything like this happen to you personally?

I think the "we can see you but you can't see us" thing is learned at an early stage. I once had a bath at my aunt's house and while I was standing up on the bath being washed (just before getting out) my cousin stood watching in fascination. She knew I would never see her and neither of us had a sibling.

I thought about this subject a bit more and I think I know why the story resonanated with me when my wife told me. The "don't be silly, she is just a little girl" refrain was communicated to males of all ages. There was an afternoon as a kid where the extended family all met at my grandparents for a barbeque and swimming. Later in the day I was sitting in the family room reading a comic when my aunt came marching through with two girls that I vaguely recognized as neighbors. I tried to warn her that her husband was changing out of his wet suit but she was too fast. In the room they went. As I sat there I could hear her husband say to her in a hushed tone, "they need to leave, I'm naked". My aunt responded in her normal booming voice, " don't be silly, they are just little girls, they don't notice these things".

They stayed while my aunt got some sort of hair clips for them and then they all left. I think that left an impression on me.
