On some level it was soothing. I definitely remember doing it, even though it was an unconscious action, as I was sometimes told to stop although it was usually not a problem. First being told on many occasions "stop that" which referred either to when I was seen rubbing my favorite stuffed animal Mr Sniffles the elephant between my legs at night usually after my bath while I was wearing no panties under my nightgown or when I'd just unconsciously rub myself in front of someone.
