I have made a list of variables which affect the feelings of a publicly nude child or adolescent, and I’ll share a couple of them. ---depending on the attitude of the viewer or viewers--- Ryan (2019, Voy 206801) attended mixed swim classes. The boys were allowed to wear swim suits but chose not to. The instructors “were genuine and caring. We actually got hugged.” A woman instructor openly admitted that she enjoyed seeing the boys naked. Regarding erections, “she said they looked nice and healthy to show.” Ryan reports, “I do not recall any boy quitting or being upset.” Ryan himself swam for three seasons. 13-year-old Henry (2020, Voy 223876) had an accident which proved to be a blessing in disguise. He had to wear a cast on one arm, so his 16-year-old sister had to give him a bath every day. His initial embarrassment abated when his sister said, “You are sooooooo cute. And you have nothing to be embarrassed about, and I am proud that you are my brother. And by the way, if you didn’t get a stiffy like that, I would be really concerned about you. She gave an added touch by commenting on their maturation: “Oh, your penis has gotten bigger since last summer. “Oh, you've got penis hair now!” She commented, “They were rather proud that I noticed these changes that made them men.” Marie (2020, Voy 206801) avoided appearing nude in the presence of her mother. Her mother commented that she was getting fat, that her legs were hairy, or that she should not shave off her pubic hair. However, she enjoyed appearing nude in the presence of her father, because he considered her pretty, and because he “always said something nice about my body.” The world needs more people like Ryan’s swimming teachers, Henry’s sister, Louisa, and Marie’s father. ---depending on whether the nude gender is in the majority or minority--- When 10-year-old Dudley (2018, Voy 223876) and about ten other boys went skinny-dipping, Colleen tagged along, wearing a T-shirt and denim shorts. Although Dudley felt uncomfortable with her teasing and her open conversation about matters biological, the other boys willingly acknowledged her presence and provided her with a thorough sex education. They showed her how boys urinate. They pointed out which of their comrades were circumcised and which were not. While developing erections in her presence, they answered all her questions. Let us close with some cases in which both variables were in place: When Patrick (2023, Voy 206801) was in high school, he was so girl-shy that he could not even talk to a girl without stuttering. “I think girls thought I was kind of cute, because of how harmless I was to them.” One day during the volleyball season, Patrick stayed after school to tend to some scholastic matters. A girl came to his desk and requested help. When the two neared the girls’ locker room door, another girl came out and joined the first girl in pushing him inside. There he was greeted by a very moist, very feminine, and very underclad volleyball team. “Don’t be shy.” “Do you like what you see?” Patrick concludes, “They knew I was not a threat so they felt empowered.” Bacon Fanatic (2017, Voy 223876) suffered permanent damage from the raw end of the deal. When he participated in nude swim classes at a YMCA in British Columbia, the insensitive female audience “outnumbered the boys 7 or 8 to 1 easily.” As a result, he has suffered long-term damage. “To be totally honest about it I eventually wound up needing psychological help from all the embarrassment. It seems that boys, and to some extent girls, become comfortable with their nudity when they are encouraged and even praised for their attractiveness when naked.
