Being completely internal when not erect, being born without foreskin and only being one inch long makes your penis sound more like a clitoris than a penis.

That has to be humiliating to be completely naked and still be mistaken for the other gender, especially one 7 or 8 years younger than you actually are! You must have a very young looking body along with your small penis. Are there usually naked boys and/or girls at the beach you went to? And do you or your sister usually go to the beach naked?

Only I was naked not my sister. My mom says girls need modesty and boys don't. I was the only one naked on the entire beach.

Makes sense that your mom had you go naked, you clearly didn’t have much to hide if everyone was mistaking you for a really little girl. Interesting that nobody else was naked on the beach though! I almost always saw at least a couple other kids naked any time I went

Personally I think people make too big of an issue about the size of a male's penis.
It isn't the size that counts, what counts is does it work as nature intended it to work.
Can you urinate with it without concern?
Does it become erect as it should during certain times?
Can you ejaculate semen from it?
If you answered 'yes' to those three questions then you have nothing to be concerned about.
Your mom thinks it is cute, and thinks of it affectionately.
Your wiener, or the size of it, isn't what defines you.

So I was also mistaken for a girl at 14 when at a campsite pool in France. The attendant gave me a pink wrist band after looking me up and down and asking "fille au garcon?" which my mother did not understand. I only realized a bit later what had happened when I saw girls wearing pink and boys only blue. My friend got a blue wristband to add salt to the wound, even though his wiener was pretty small as well, lol.

How small was your penis at the time? I’ve been mistaken for a young boy while naked before but only if my lower half was underwater, my chest was pretty small until late into puberty.
Also was it common for both boys and girls to swim naked at that pool?

I was kept nude at a beach, as development was normal, but younger boys in group were kept nude I was told to watch them somewhat so just took off shorts too.
I did get embarrassed. I went home with another friend I met at beach we always played with. I was nude on beach and just went over to there house without clothes. His mom did not care at all honestly.

I could see it being more embarrassing having normal development for your age and being naked. I could lie and say I was younger than I was if uncomfortable. I can imagine you might have got more notice from older females even if they were laid back about your nudity.

We were washed most days together and I got a check monthly maybe and doctor visit quarterly at first at least. I liked being scrubbed so no big deal. My other mom never did so felt lucky. The daily attention was important to me. I always stayed naked after bath till bed time anyway. I was never told to get dressed.
After school me and another boy i was always with played naked all the time. Moms knew each other for forever so no concern about sfatey. We would even ride bikes naked in summer.

So my penis was basically still the same size as it had been in infancy as a very young child, so about an inch with a bit of extra foreskin at the end. Exposed to the air it could retract a bit more though. My balls were also very small and tight and didn't really hang. So with the slight depression making a line down the middle between them, and my penis being retracted, in daylight and shadow, and certainly from a distance, I could look like a girl, or at least it could be hard to tell. I also had quite a feminine or at least androgynous overall appearance with longish hair which did not help.
Yes at that pool it was common for both girls and boys to swim naked although not all did, it was a mix. Being in France though, most girls were topless regardless of age and prepubescent boys like myself and my friend were usually naked. There might have been a rule about that, but I don't fully recall if or why. If anyone knows please respond.
To Lily, I assume you were flat then until well into your teens, did you swim in these types of settings and were you embarrassed or did you enjoy it?

that does seem like it’d be easy to mistake a boy for a girl if their balls are small and tight against their body if their penis was also small and mostly retracted.
Any time I swam in public I usually saw lots of naked boys and girls swimming, I’m also from France!
I don’t know if there was a rule about it but I think most parents just didn’t see a point in getting a swimsuit for their kids since they’d just grow out if it quickly anyway and young kids don’t have much worth hiding anyway.
I was mostly flat chested until I was about 16 and they still aren’t very big even now, just didn’t grow much I guess. I wasn’t embarrassed much about my chest outside of the times I was mistaken for a boy. It didn’t happen a lot since I would always be swimming naked but if my lower half was covered by a towel or under the water sometimes people who didn’t know me would think I was a boy since my hair wasn’t that long and like I said my chest was really flat

I should add that in my case being in the water and then out of it wet also helped shrink things further. There were a lot of naked boys and girls where I swam and one thing I'd note is that in general it became quite hard to tell boys and girls apart, maybe surprisingly. As you mention most didn't have much to hide anyway and in a group looked pretty androgynous.
Being flat chested is fine I think, many people find it attractive. Not surprisingly I guess, I never developed much either and remained childlike and treated as such until well past the normal age.
