School was small and group of friends was smaller. I played with mix of 6 boys and girls and knew another bunch causally. No reason to be so hot and more comfy. One of the girls brother did same thing at her house too. Most nudity was playing in backyards after school or in summer. Being brought somewhere was a treat. On stable farm I would be naked under 12 in summer many days.
PE was nude for swimming. If we used pool annex for calisthenics it was always nude too as last class of day. I talked to few from school about it and we do chuckle at freedom we had. Basketball was done with shorts always. Track was nude in summer as optional.

Sean, since PE calisthenics was the last class and always nude does that mean you left school nude to travel home?

Things were a LOT different in upstate NY in 70s during hippie times and protests. It did work as compared to today Nixon policies would be called liberal.
No you could not ride bus naked but shirtless was fine. Funny idea though. We would play frisbee and hangout a bit before leaving though
