I'm going to put my answers here as well, but I'll preface it with I don't have kids. Just here for the reading and discussion and chiming in with my experiences and thoughts when it's relevant.

Yes I was spanked by both parents and sometimes grandparents. My dad did most of the spanking as I got older, but mom would still give a few into my teens.

I did as a kid but stopped around 15 or 16.

N/A. I'd say I have different ideas on how discipline should be done, but I'm not in a position to say I'm stricter.

>Do you think society is slowing moving back towards supporting spanking as the main discipline for kids?

I don't, but I think it's more alive and well than many think in parts of the country (US).

> Have you ever witnessed any spankings in public?

No, but I've heard them threatened.

> Do/Would you allow babysitters to spank?

I'm not a fan of allowing that.

That's a tricky one. The shorthand version of my thinking on it is that they should get more independence as they get older, but still be kept close enough to not do anything too stupid. But they should be allowed to make decisions and fail at things (and face the consequences) because it's important they learn how to deal with that.

N/A, but I also think there's a lot of misinformation about what's taught in public schools out there.
