Bedtime spankings have not really been an issue here. But sometimes I've had to give an "attention getter" with the warning of a spanking if one or more of my kids didn't stay in bed. In case you're wondering, an "attention getter" is just a quick slap on the (usually clothed) butt just to get the child's attention and let them know they are flirting with getting a real (bare butt) spanking. I remember getting them pretty often growing up. "Attention Getter" was what Daddy called those single swat on the spot spankings. We were visiting his brother's family once and I was misbehaving. After a warning to behave, I hadn't stopped yet, so he grabbed me by the arm and gave me two smacks on the seat of my pants with the warning of being taken to the bathroom for a spanking if I didn't behave. My feelings were hurt because of the embarrassment and because I was a Daddy's Girl and I started to cry. After his warning I said, "But you already spanked me." He said, "That wasn't a spanking Baby Girl, that was an Attention Getter. Now if you don't behave I'll take you to the bathroom, pull your panties down and give you a real spanking." Having had my first spanking from him just a few weeks before, I decided to behave.

While there have been a few times I've spanked one of my kids when they didn't stay in bed or before going to bed, usually it's just been an attention getter instead of a real spanking.
