Subject: Do you support corporal punishment in the schools?

 I am a pro-spanking mom. I am also a middle school teacher in Texas. Our district has paddling. I support it. Parents support it, very few opt their child out at the beginning of the year. But the curious thing is that a lot of parents don't follow their child's paddling up at home with a spanking or other consequence. That is sure not the way it was when I was growing up!

Beyond that I am dismayed by the failure of many parents to give us support on discipline generally. Frequently I will notify parents of wrongdoing. Frequently I find out that the parents did nothing much to follow up on it.

There are certainly exceptions.But not enough.
