My kids attend a private Christian school which does spank from second through 8th grade.I would not allow it if I did not know and have faith in the teachers and staff. I think it is a tool which helps the teachers and students. Of course, as Laura says, there needs to be support from parents. I am in intimate contact with my kids' teachers. And there have been a few spankings from me, including the chatterbox problem Sarah had with her daughter. To my surprise my daughter never was spanked at school this year (second grade). I am sure part of the reason is she did not want a spanking with the wooden spoon from me. And there has just been a general improvement in her attitude.
