Subject: Movin' on out

Hello, Girls!
Last night I called my dad to see if he could drive up and help me move my things to New Jersey. He said it would be fine, etc. Well, it just so happened that Kenny called afterwards. I mentioned the idea of HIM possibly driving up instead and he said that he'd be willing to do it! I was/am so happy! We can hang for a few days up here and then chill in good ol' Jersey. Best of all, I don't have to spend all day feeling indebted to my dad.

So, things are pretty chill here, mostly due to office A/C. Meso and I chat every day it seems, and sometimes Jules is on line too. I am taking 2 personal days at the end of this week so that I could chill and enjoy the fla-va of Boston.

I am reading Nonzero, which is pretty interesting if you are able to ignore the denseness of the historical information. I am planning to read Gloria Naylor next because Dom recommended it to me... how about you all? Do you have any suggestions for good books?

Speaking of suggestions, when I go to Japan, I have to bring "omiyage" with me. "omiyage" means gift, but it is more like a token of goodwill to the new people you are going to be interacting/working with. Anyhow, since I work at 4 different schools with an average of 5 teachers/supervisors in every school, I need to get something small yet nice. Something from the U.S. (examples are jelly belly beans, US state quarters) Can y'all think of anything else I could get?

Anyway, I miss you ladies. Amy, I don't know where you are right now! When are you coming to Boston to visit again? Me and Maria are having a grand time with the roomies. Last weekend Gandhar and Pete came up and we had them over our house, along with a few Boston locals. The next morning we had brunch buffet at Northeast Brewing Co. It was super.

So when any of you get a chance, please give me ideas on what I should bring to Japan as "omiyage".

Love, Nana
