Men do bring mail-order brides to the States yes, but I don't think these days it's as simple as it was a couple of hundred years ago, sight unseen. Why do you think they have tours of the Soviet Union for unmarried American men? *L* Hint: It's not the great exchange rate. They're working around the system. I don't know too, too much about it, so i'll stop there.
I don't know why you'd want to skip possibly one of the best moments of an online relationship. The moment you meet in person and discover whether or not it really is 'virtual' or reality. You'd rather raise the stress level by about a million percent by demanding a commitment neither of you should be asked to give at this point? The immigration process...like I said before is a long and arduous one - it'll be easier if you know the tangible reasons why it's worth it (i.e. real life experience!) In our haste to reach the 'happily ever after' we run the risk of sabotaging something by moving too quickly. Think about it.
