Subject: FANTASTIC GAME!!!!

Just got home. Boy am I glad I went! After being up by 9 in the 2nd half, Jaspers went on a 10-0 run to go up by a point. Stags did not get rattled by vocal sellout crowd, but instead came back again. Was a hard fought game by both teams, and it didn't hurt having Flores with 3 fouls in the 1st half, and Holmes foul out in the 2nd. I think that players only meeting helped a lot, you could sense the team playing with purpose. Gai was simply incredible, most of his 2nd half blocks (or goaltends) were somewhere above 11'.

We will get 2 Post articles tomorrow, with Puma and Elsberry both present, and when I left them, writing about how the Stags gored those Jaspers and their nations longest win streak. We will certainly get the NY press on this one, and maybe mentions in USA Today and other publications. It's time for Iona to take them down too, and maybe Siena, and open the door to a 1st place finish or tie. It all starts on Saturday against Marist. Be there. Let's take care of business.

I agree, Holmes fouling out was a real key. He is tough for us to handle, but Gonzo decided to put him in at the end of the 1st half.

Gai's blocks were truely great, and I think he kept all in bounds in most cases. I would say the blocks were more like the 12-13 high foot range. Nobody plays above the rim like Gai in the MAAC.
