Subject: Fire him?

The question here is do you want a nice coach who can't recruit, but can keep his players happy or a guy who at least can show he can win. That's the dilemna here and hopefully Sully will learn from these incidents and change his ways. If you think that can't happen, then ask Gary Williams who finally made some alterations after some heated criticism. Give him credit for getting Mulligan here in the first place. I don't think the kid ever wanted to play for UMBC and I got the feeling his stats were more important than winning games. He was using UMBC as a platform for bigger and better things. Grannum is another story (Grades?), but it is a coaches responsibilty to bring in players and keep them there. Mulligan was probably too good for this level, but Grannum, Hyland, Giddens, and Grella are big losses. I still think UMBC will be pretty good next year because of Malik Wallace and Will McClurkin, but obviously the depth factor. In fact, they could be the best team in this area, which ain't saying much.
