It is merciful that you missed the game, if it's the one that I saw. I wish I had been at The Gulch.

Re: Thesaurus: I remember reading in Ayn Rand's biography that she used the Thesaurus to write her novels in a similar way to your friend. Her native language was Russian, for which there were no thesaures, so when she was learning English and writing her first novel, she used one and chose the most violent, intense synonym for the occasion.

"Intensity" is a quality in writing that many novelists talk about. It, apparently, is one of the hardest things to attain. Maybe this is a secret I should be using and not talking about. Hmmm, where's my thesaurus (oh, it's on Cetus, that's right).

BTW, did you know that "thesaurus" means "religious lizard" in Esperanto?
