I like your friend's idea of exploring the negative to help define parameters.

I have another perhaps-too-obvious-to-list idea for your list, but I'll state it anyway:

Those who do not hold self-reliance as one of the highest values shall Not be members of the Blue Tribe.

And here's a useful quote that Brother theo posted on FMF regarding a similar topic a while back:

Maybe it will also help to clarify some BCofF parameters. I may use it as the basis for the Constitution of my mythical Blue community, Utopika.
