Not to nit-pick, (and perhaps I should have taken this off-list, or even the 'other' list...), but I don't think you should be cropping - thereby changing the artistic value and content of a photograph - after it's been submitted. A photo (or any work of art) should be judged 'as is' when submitted to a contest as a final product. That's what a contest implies; the sumbittal and review of someone's best work and final product. Not someone's best work after it's been altered by contest proprieters. I would say that the same applies especially after the photos have been judged; if there's been any editing after they have been judged, now you're not showing what actually won, and I don't think that's fair to the person that submitted the photo and it's less than honest to the people viewing them.

The judges _did_ judge the entries based on the way the photos were submitted. There was only a little cropping to clear up some rough edges from scanning for publication to the website. When I take the scans at highest resolution, it picks up the edge a little bit more than at the other resolutions.
