He laughs openly, settling back in his chair and propping his feet. "Interesting," he replied, containing his mirth. "What would you do if you somehow managed to claim the city anyhow? I doubt they'd call you, me, or anyone Master, and this pathetic bunch," he continued, indicating the other patrons and the other occupants of the city with a broad sweep of a callused hand, "is hardly worth the trouble to capture to sell as slaves." He grinned, leaning forward. "What makes you think you can claim this city? I thought I had explained this earlier. Perhaps I was unclear. This is my city, my 'turf,' as you call it. Mine, Raykar's, and Sarra's. Now," he continued, eyes narrowed. "I have nothing against an alliance; indeed I am a shrewd man, and know an advantage when I see it. However, it would be you that should seek alliances, not us. We number thrice yourself, so a fight would undoubtably be adviseable. Aye, you are welcome to remain in our city, but I take orders from no one--" he said, "--if you catch my drift. But perhaps that's just the way I see it," he finished with another rakish grin.
