I used that method when I had just one cat in college and it worked well. We are done with the first two legs of our trip, but tomorrow is the longest, 10 hours vs. 4 and 5. They have done ok so far and have slept the majority of the time thanks to a sedative. I think our older cat may have some trouble tomorrow with staying in her cage the whole time (she HATES it) so I will retry your method. Thanks for your help. Our other cat is ultra compliant and will probably be fine. He is very dog like.
