A passing thought rises, as she counters the step. Should she not be cautious to the stallions? At least, would that not be the norm? A snicker, she responds mentally. When have I ever been normal?

His cunning gaze is moved from the golden mare to the lanky thoroughbred, Adrian. The stallion did not offer any wordy greetings but a curt nod in his direction. He did not enjoy being interrupted.
