Author: Euripedes and Perseus
Subject: *The magic and the mystery*

*A short, elder, buckskin stallion strides confidently in followed closely behind by a tall, muscular, and youthful black stallion. This is the wizard and his apprentice, the younger keeps his eyes averted, while the older, the wizard, scans the territory for his new King.*

True Evil, my name is Euripedes and I was the wizard of Evil Valley. This is my apprentice Perseus. I do hope we will be allowed to stay in your home. If you would like me to explain to you where we come from and what we are capable of, please ask.

*The black stallion's eyes are cautiously scanning the territory, looking for Aerial, for he had lost her in the shuffle. He needed to talk to her before she had her foal.*

her gaze fell upon the duo and she moved towards them with confidence in her stride and nobility in her poise. with her zenith perked towards the heavens and her regals features twisted in a coy smile, one could almost overlook the hideous swelling of her sides, as the child grew within her. she knew, she knew that the thing would be born as soon as she was crowned queen. she knew it. and she knew she carried a daughter inside her. she couldn't explain why she knew these things, she just felt it.

completely ignoring the elder wizard, her attention fell unhindered upon the wizard's apprentice. her dial pushed his shoulder affectionately, and she stood at a comfortable distance from him.

*trots in smirking at the trio before her* Ah, quite the power hungry things aren't we? Of course how could we go from riches to rags just because Malussin lost his spirit. Twas a shame that was. *pauses and shakes her head forcing the darkess that had escaped back down inside* True Evil I would like to join your herd as my former stallion has gone. I see I am not the first to ask this of you M'lord, but I do hope you allow me to stay *watches everyone intently behind a shade of dark mane that goes almost to the tip of her nose. Yet something else interferes with her vision. That however is permanent and has followed sice she was a foal.*

*His eyes remaining averted, lifted just enough to make eye contact with Aerial. They plead with her, now is not the time, not with Euripedes around, he can't know what he has been up to, who he has been consorting with. If the wizard found out that he had been having an affair with the leader of the mutiny, nothing good could come of it. For Euripedes has pledged himself and Perseus to the King's support. His eyes pleading for her to understand while he speaks.*

Good day Aerial, I hope you are well.

*His gray eyes turn towards the obviously pregnant mare, cocking an eyebrow. He found her oddly amusing, her and the stallion leading this rebellion. Their foolish attempts were surely going to be squelched, especially if the King uses the wizard to his advantage. But what is this? She knows his apprentice? Perseus has consorted with this mare? He walks towards her, creating a small barrier between her and the stallion. His voice is sickenly sweet, dripping with unsaid flattery and compliments.*

Ah Aerial, I don't think we have been introduced. My name is Euripedes, I am the wizard of the Evil side, and this is my apprentice Perseus. But, it appears that you have already met. May I ask, how you know Perseus?

*His tone of voice changes slightly as he asks his last question, for it was meant really more for Perseus. His anger is apparent to the apprentice only he is sure.*

the nigrescent kona knew she had slipped up, and so quickly went about recovering herself. a smile raced over her features, and her pate tipped forward to brush the wizard's shoulder, as if to show she had not greeted perseus with intimacy, but instead with an overwhelming gentility. her pate then dipped slightly, in respect to the elder wizard's powers, and she shifted herself in to a comfortable stance, an equal distance placed between herself, perseus, and his master.

salutations master wizard. i conversed with perseus when we lived in evil valley. he speaks quite highly of you, and i have been wishing to meet you as well.

she flattered him highly, and did her best to avert the question without actually skipping around it. she had formed a loosely fitting answer, but it would suffice, hopefully. an apologetic smile was casted towards perseus, before her content mask of warmth was replaced.

It really only was a matter of time before Euripedes found out...or did Perseus honestly think it could be kept a secret? Chokes back a snort of laughter and loks somberly at the horses curious as to how this wopuld end. the pallid stallion twisted his three beat gait to allow for smooth transition in direction change. turning his frame from the setting sun he slowed his appendages in approach, the blanket of loose fitting watery frost slushing beneath the onslaught of his onyx rocks. a self-posessed smile adorned his features as he took a stance beside the pregnant mare. agitated by something or other the brute was off his normally high strung persona, venturing far enough to dip his crania in greeting to the wizard. completely ignoring the situation at hand, the position assumed by the magic maker, and his apprentice, and the drama covetting the stygian femme's arabian countenance. thoughts of dragons weighed upon his psyche like a vest of lead hangs from patients in x-ray facilities, making the beige demon jumpy and distracvted in his manner. briefly he dips his mug, brushing it gently, almost affectionately across the length of his neighbour's obsidian hued boa. not dragging the moment he tugs his pate to it's regular attunement, nothing in the least like relief is apparant on his visage, but it is evident in the comparatively calm aura that encompasses him thereafter.
still to put-off to form properly characterised sentences he settles to just meet the eyes of each individual, a hardened guard visible within his own pools.

her auditives dipped backwards, attentive to the noise of another approching to join their little gathering. complete and utter disgust crept across her dainty features as the stench of frozen dreams tainted every fiber of her being. she took an involuntary step away from him and as she first felt his touch, she assumed it was merely the wind, for she never fathomed he would be so blatanly stupid as to touch her, after what happened last time. her instant reaction was to attack, and she did it without thinking. pregnant as she was, she was neither meek nor inable to defend herself. rising slightly, her forelimbs propelled towards his, the short distance between them meaning her ebony rocks colliding into his slender limbs did not break them, simply taught him to stay away. she stepped back, seething, until a glimmer of something unrecognizable flicker in her morose eyes. [ kiwi watched me write that! it's not powerplaying! faithy is sitting behind me, telling me to do it!] she saw how this could be twisted to her own advantage, and she forced an apologetic look to grasp her palette. "oh, frozen dreams, you scared me. i was expecting you here." her voice was tinged with sincerity, and only the players would know she was only half telling the truth. she wasn't expecting him there. there = near her. her frame siddled closer to his, but she couldn't force herself to touch him. she wasn't that desperate to hide her relationship with perseus from the wizard. she'd never be that desperate...

Shook her head and began to graze though this wasn't any more exciting than the drama that had unfolded. Looks at euripedes and puts up her mental barriers remembering the blasted gift he had. *The young, hot blooded stallion can hardly contain himself at the approach of Frozen Dreams, how dare he touch her! He slowly lowers his eyes to the ground to hide his anger as best he knows how from his master. He almost chokes as he hears the outsider mare speaker of "getting it over with" Who the hell did she think she was? He inhales slowly, reigning in his anger and frustration. He must look to be a fool to Aerial, too scared to confront his master, but he knew she just couldn't understand. What his next move was to be, he did not know.*

*He slowly turns towards the King, bowing graciously.*

Your generosity is greatly appreciated by both myself and Perseus. Please, do come to us with anything you might need or desire.

*His voice once again transforms into the saccorine coated sweetness to address the mare. He knew exactly what was going on, she was a smart one, almost hiding it from him. But the arrival of the other stallion put everything into place. She almost pulled the wool over his eyes, though he knew he would have found out eventually.*

My lady, the pleasure is all mine, you are quite renowned in these parts.

*He bows slowly once again to the mare out of courtesy. He rises slowly, his dull gray eyes flashing with an unknown emotion. In front of Perseus' eyes floats the phrase is black smoke lettering, "Did you think you could hide it?" This is only visible to Perseus, and it wafts away as quickly as it came, but he knew his point was made. The young stallion was going to pay for what he was doing.*

[> [-blows kisses-] amusing situations -- Frozen Dreams, 16:26:44 02/15/03 Sat [1]

his personal agenda taken care of the pallid individual prepares himself to depart, stepping almsot suspiciously away from the mare as he does. completely baffled by her reaction to him. for his gamble he'd been expecting her immediate and violent reproach. when all he received was a tap on the fingers so to speak he was compelled to believe the female was losing her touch. confused accusation lurked within his lamps as he forced them from her swollen form, to gaze instead upon the wizard, the apprentice falling within that vicinity as well. for a moment he studied the aged stallion before his attention was distracted to perseus, something didn't quite sit right about that one presently. fully expecting the aie of fear that hung around the younger when the magi maler was present, the slightly dissheveled anger that palpably radiated from him through the beige demon further off his rut. completely de-characterised of everything he was, the brute contented himself to observe in placid silence, tearing apart their facades with his ebony pools. finely chiselled pallet quirked in a meek frown, mug tipped to ione side, portraying his curiosity.
momentarily his dark gaze fell upon the other mare standing across from him, and he predicted she was in much the same position he was in at the time, an observer, and by the look of her she'd been watching for quite some time. itching to querry sa to the tensions he was perceiving from the different personalities he reigned himself in, and stood still, seperated from the child-bearing female he'd first approached, though still he felt he must be a player in this twisted scene. and unaware of which actor he was to imitate he stood in semi-obscurity, awaiting his cue.

If so they gave you more credit than you deserve *holds back other comments that prance on her tongue waiting to be unleashed. Glances at Frozen and smirks to herself. Well well seems the cocky stallion had dug himself into quite a hole with this one. Leans back onto her hind legs shifting her malicious gaze to Aerial. Twas a pity really she had liked the mare at first. Disappointment flashed across her moon kissed features. She was a strong spirit but love.....or lust....had made her go soft. She sensed the energy coming form the unborn foal and felt a pity for the child. To come into this world and be instantly hurled into this mess would be hell. Shook her head then her silent gaze slips to Euripedes. The stallion intrigued her and she wondered what his reaction would truly be. All his formality was a load of bull. She fleetingly wondered if him and perseus were silently communicating. Observed the group quietly. Though she had no part in this drama she was determined to know the end. It was like a good book and she suspected the ending to be even more twisted then the current plot.*

*At the last comment of the mare he lunges forward, unable to contain himself any further. He was going to jump her, attack her, more to scare her then anything else, but truly, he didn't know what he was going to do. He hated that mare and wanted her gone. The body of his master was the only thing that blocked his path, and for a short time, he had forgotten where he was. His anger and distress needes a release, he hated Frozen Dreams, he hated Seductress, he hated Euripedes. But he had crossed the line now, the wizard knew exactly what was going on, and he was going to pay. Especially now that he had let his emotions control him, one of the first lessons he had been taught by Euripedes. His eyes darted to those of Aerial, she was so beautiful but he knew she would not want any part of him after what was going to happen next. His body stops before the wizard, and his face cringes, waiting for the first assault.*

The hulking stallion, slowly crumbles to his knees, a sharp unwavering spreading throughout his entire body. There is no escape until the wizard decides he has had enough. A quick stabbing pain to his chest forces his head back as he cries out in pain. His eyes suddenly focus on Euripedes.

"Why don't you just kill me! What is the point of all of this? You are torturing..."

His last words are swallowed as his throat is strangled forcefully by unseen hands. He turns his head to Aerial, and watches her, apologizing with his eyes, apologizing for the misery he was in that made him look weak and helpless. The wizard was the only creature he had ever encountered that had taken him down. He wasn't worth all of this to her he knew, she was too ambitious, too driven.

[> -now i see. -- Frozen Dreams, 15:37:54 02/16/03 Sun [1]

more than intrigued now a small smirk crept across his features, perusing the situation and the emotional undercurrents. drifting his gaze backwards to land upon his partner in crime, he started, but took great care to hide the surprise lining his insides as he attempted to delve into the reasoning behind her unfair expression. it was undoubted that as soon as the events at hand were over and done with, the challenge, the child. that after all that he would have yet another enemy to face. remember that expression? keep your friends close and your enemies closer. those words exactly described the reasoning behind their queer partnership. the frozen dreamer and the venomous fatale shared a particular enimosity. a very peculiar bond. frozen dreams and the rest of the world, where there was another peculiar bond. and a less appealing enimosity. the world was not nearly so beautiful as the creature he was regarding presently. but, that pulchritude was marred by her unbecoming personality. too much of a whore, too little of an individual. too much of a stereotype. he need a non-conformist in order to be complemented, as opposities attract themselves. indded, she had swept him once. but their fires could not be combined to create any sort of controlable passion, whether for good or for bad.
indeed he could not wait until the point he no longer required her assitance, the point when he could be done with her forever.
meanwhile though, quite a drama was unfolding, still uncertain as to which role he played here he was beginning to pick up the pieces, her strange reaction to his violation, and the sudden burst of emotional energies from the young stallion. that connection had become all to obvious, and now, the opinion that the elder magic maker might not be so willing to accept this predicamant had made itself obvious. and now, he had a choice. perhaps, if he played the role of lover, perseus' apparant affections would earn him less of a punishment than if the foundings of a relationship were apparant. as to love the demoness from afar was not nearly so dangerous to the magician's loyalties, as a relationship would be. for it's difficult to betray secrets to closed ears.
or, or he could step bak and remove himself completely from the situation, and leave the undoubted fact as it was. the couple. opposite sides. for his own honour, the pallid brujo was quite perturbed at first, as this one was an enemy, but som many other uses for this relationship had presented themselves that he felt he no longer needed to feel threatened by a connection with the opposition.
so he allowed the smile to curve his lips, and he nodded imperceptibly to the fatale, he knew. he knew the secret. and for now he would play along. for now he would pretend. and he was a good actor too. and let it be known to her that he recognised he was the one doing a favor. let it be known to her that it would be her responsibility to make this up.
and so, whether she wished it or not, he re-initiated his presence, returning slyly to the placement he had ocupied seconds earlier, stepping beside the stygian phina, close enough to create an aura of affection, but not close enough that their dermises would brush, or commune in any way. as he still felt the rage as it radiated from her frame.

quietly dissheveled the pallid brute kept his impassive facade, perhaps the expression had been so chiselled to his dial that it was insurmountable by any other. however, as the events lengthened, he calmed and returned to the normal egotistical disinterested idiot he always was. in having a slave himself, he understood the principles for a master - apprentice relationship. this one happened on an extra strict master. well aware that his position was not great in the other's views he withheld any snarky comments that prodded his psyche. he watched in a drawling lack of passion, amusing himself to watch the suffering. poor boy.
finally, remembering that he was to play the part of lover, he recalled quickly the reactions that should ensue, an anger making itself aparant behind the ebony windows, a smug that's right smothering his countenance. he almost caught himself hoping that aerial would remember the game and no look too traumatised. reigning the chuckle that threatened over his last though he reprocessed it. not traumatised. he hoped that she would look unaffected for if this stallion really was the girl's lover than she might be tempted to come to the rescue. no o, he was sure she was more intelligent than such.
burrying his pensees deep beneath the surface, he did what he was best at, playing a part. his ebony aigrete swung idly at his back, chancing to brush against his companion's hinds as well as his own. he allowed the appearance of smug satisfaction to remain fixed upon his visage while he turned his gaze to the elder. a frown rippled his brow, and was banished with the words he voiced, a sickly joviality haunted them.

come now, euripedes, surely you won't deny us to hear his miserable excuses?

cocking his pate to one side the beige demon inquired. perfectly dominating the role of the jealous bofriend. reminiscent of the over-conceited football-player who discovers the lower-classed student to have a crush on his sweetheart.

[> Re: *The magic and the mystery* -- Euripedes, 18:36:50 02/16/03 Sun [1]

*Three final words fly forcefully from the wizard's lips and Perseus falls completely to the ground, gasping for air, and moaning in a low tone. Euripedes now turns to the stallion, his supposed enemy, with a look of suspicion and confusion on his face. The elegant mare had made it quite obvious to the situation that she had some sort of relationship with his apprentice, more then likely one of a romantic type. Now she was trying to hide it from him. But this new stallion, her "partner" had thrown a wrench into everything. She hated him, no matter how hard she tried she couldn't hide it from him. So what was going through this ridicolously egotistical stallion's mind? Surely he saw what was going on, or was he really that dumb? Or was he playing along, trying to keep this from him also. If Perseus had conspired with him also, he would need to be careful, but he didn't like playing games. He didn't hve the patience.*

What game are you playing Frozen Dreams?

[> life -- Froozen Dreams, 19:00:41 02/16/03 Sun [1]

suppressing the desire to chuckle blandly and merely walk away from the mess was much easier than he imagined, he was totally engrossed now in the field. that the stallion had had to ask what he was up to proved already that he held the upper hand, if barely. he responded as befit his role, swaying in no way to the mental commentary that accompanied his actions for him. his pate tipped subtly into the wind, as he regarded the elder. a suspicious mindset over-ruled by the stern composure ruled his countenance as he responded to the inquiry.

I? i play no games, wizard. games are for those unsure of their stature.

those words were easily pinned to the beige demon, as his egotistical self-perception dominated his legacy and requied little force of play on his part. casting a dreary glance to the collapsed beast, the frozen dreamer took opportunity to re-animate the anger, stepping a half-pace forward, as if to shield the mare next him from his gaze, he emphaisesd the posessiveness of his character. amused as he was, it took relatively no effort to conceal the fact of how little he cared toward the outcome of the events, the worst for him, would be the unhappiness of his companion. the best for him.. well.. best not to let our thoughts dwell too long upon it, lest the mask of my consciousness waver.

oh how could she have been so stupid as to get involved with this? the damned baby had messed around with her emotions, made her vulnerable, weak. her gaze moved quickly about the gathered circle, and she loathed every single being there. her gaze, changed now, full of pity, fell at last upon perseus. what had she been thinking? he was so weak. look at him fall. she shook her head, mentally chiding herself, before turning away, walking away. she didn't need this, not now. she hadn't worked so hard to let herself lust after some wizard's apprentice and screw everything up. oh aery, what's with you? one second you love him, and even feign liking frozen dreams to thrown euripedes off track, and now you walk away and leave him to die? yes, but we all saw this coming. we all should have known that aerial can't really love, because she doesn't really have a heart. or a conscience for that matter. things are only liked by her if she finds them useful, if they can be twisted to her liking and needs. as soon as the exhaust their purpose, she discards them, and moves on to something new. it's just how she was. that was why she pitied perseus. he'd fallen in to her trap so quickly. he'd honestly believed she'd loved him. yes, sometimes she was impressed by her own acting skills. she found it sickeningly cute, how easily the apprentice had succumbed to her feminine charms and beauty. and as she walked a way, a morbid smile carved in to her pristine features, and her sauntering walk was a sick reminder of everything perseus had imagined he'd had, and everything he'd just lost. as she escaped the group, a single thought raced through the corridors of her mind -- time to find a new toy...

*After a few moments to recover, the stallion slowly rose to his feet. He coughed painfully, blood dripping from his lips. He raised his head to watch the mare and her companion leave. Once again, his mind is overcome by anger, and betrayal. She didn't understand, the wizard had the power to kill him, torture him, without even allowing Perseus to fight back. This was the only opponent he could not beat. His mind flashed back to his homeland, before he became the apprentice to pure evil. He was a gladiator, he was strong, quick, and intelligent, as well as heart-less...when it came down to his fighting. He was still young, probably seven or eight if he had kept track. He had been with many mares, not for a relationship, certainly not for love, but for immediate satisfaction. He watches Aerial, her delicate features walking away from him. This was the only mare he had ever thought he could love. She was nothing but a manipulative whore, or at least she was playing the part. He wasn't sure what she had used him for, what her plan for him was or would have been. For it was obvious that she had no interest in him as a stallion, but as a pawn in her little game.*

I don't know what you are Aerial, surely not a mare for you do not hold the characteristics of one made to love and nurture.
