The key goal for either opponent in a battle is to beat the other into submission, forfeit, or merely chase them away in order to win a prize, prove their strength, or merely just due to boredom. Usually, however, it is due to a desire of something coveted, such as a position or mare. In your case, since you be a female, I'd sincerely doubt you'd fight for a mare, though I could be wrong...
