The Great Hall

At the Castle

Noise from the hall may be heard from some distance, the sounds of revelry and merrymaking evident. Upon your approach, the door is flung wide and you are greeted with the scene of all the castle's inhabitants eating, drinking, and making merry. Excellent food and a warm mug of mead or cold ale await you, should you choose to join them.

OK... I will give you an evaluation of sorts and reasons for why I picked who I picked, by character:

- Alexandra: Though your character fits the 'good' (vs. evil) bill necessary for Queen of Lothlorien, I feel she would be better off as a knight. While this does not exclude you, I think you were outposted by other characters.
- Elizabeth: Your character is a lady and a 'good' character, fitting that unnoficial criteria, but I think she has been outposted in terms of quality and quantity.
- Kessira: Kessira, kessira... whatever shall I do with you? lol. Well, I know you are an extensive player of this game, and you are theoretically a 'good' character, but I feel your talents are better used elsewhere.
- Katrina: Katrina, you did an excellent job in creating posts, it would be nice if you were a *touch* more active, but then again, if there is no conflict involving you, it is hard to just post meaningless things.
- Guinevere: Guin, I feel you would make an *excellent* (and I will stress excellent) candidate for Anthalan. Though your character is not 'evil,' she is not the respectable lady kind of person we need for lothlorien.

Kings: I haven't done the competition yet, mainly because we have two candidates. Get posting, though, and we may soon have a winner!

Congratulations! Katrina, we will have you crowned ASAP and the contest for Anthalan ASAP as well. :)

Condolances to those who did not make it, but hopefully there will be chance enough for all, or perhaps our new Queen may ennoble you...

Danielle... unfortunately, since Chloe is no longer Queen, her relatives are no longer royalty. You are welcome to claim any title you wish except that of royalty, be it duchess, baroness, countess, lady, whatever you would like. I am sorry, but otherwise we would end up with too much royalty.

He enters the castle, looking at the castle in wonderment. Like his brother, he was never much for enclosed spaces. Unlike his brother, he was sane, but that was another matter. He nodded to the gathered nobles deferentially, though he does clear his throat for attention. He does not need to step on the dais to rise above the crowd as he is quite tall, his height gaining him much attention. "Greetings. I am Dan'an," he says, pronouncing his name like dan-AHN. "I am trained as a warrior, and am available for hire as a guard or bodyguard. My fee is minimal, I am loyal, and I am in need of work," he finishes, stepping back to lean against a post to see if any would take him up on his offer.

I have noticed a few problems lately in regard to the conduct of players on this game. I hate to sound like the evil game-owner who ruins everyone's fun, but I want to establish the following:

- Profanity is not acceptable. There is really no reason for it, and it is incredibly insulting, etc. etc. Some things are acceptable, such as hell and damn. Hell is not a cuss word, it is a place you go when you are bad in the Christian religion. Damn is something that you do.

- Evil people are okay, and welcome, except there is a line between evil and rude. Please, show some respect for people. Keep it in mind.

- We have had lately a flurry of posts posted anonymously, under someone or sum1 or blah or those things. While I respect your right not to post your name, if it's something so rude you don't want your name attached to, you probably shouldn't be posting it. Ask nicely. Be nice. There is NO reason to be overly sarcastic and mean. Please, refrain from posting rude things anonymously.

- Fights are good. They encourage people to visit the site, and become a more interesting and interactive experience for everyone. However, they need to be kept in character. It's fine for two characters to hate each other and fight and whatnot, but that's where it stops. Fights do not need to get personal, or involve the players of these characters. Any remarks or posts you make should be directed towars the character, not the player.

I'm sorry for having to post this, but I can see this wonderful game degrading into name calling, rude people, and insults. I would hate for that to happen. Let's keep this positive...

A clatter of shodden hooves rings through the place as two magnificient steeds approach. A well-dressed young woman sits side-saddle upon a towering snow-white Andalusian, obviously of noble birth. Behind her rides yet a younger girl, dressed and cloaked in the fashion of a servant though she rides a dun Lusitano.

Further observations are made of the young woman upon the Andalusian. She wears a midnight blue velvet dress, decorated with silver fastenings. The sleeves are long, extending from the very ends to make bell-sleeves. Upon the neckline of the dress is a simple silver border around the girl's neck is a small silver choker with a single pearl dangling from it. She has three rings on her fingers, two on one hand and one on the other. Her rich brunette hair is down, but a simple silver circlet adorns the top of her head. Attached to the circlet is a netting of fine woven silver which hangs down in front of her face. Her face is that of nobility, quaint nose, high cheekbones, small ears, and deep, dark, rosy red lips. She wears no makeup, no rouge to help the rosiness of her cheeks. She has dark, peircing green eyes which shimmer and sparkle with an all-knowing light.

The Andalusian is also decked simply, but in it's simplicity it is finely crafted and made. The saddle pad is also midnight blue with silver tassels hanging from all corners and silver braiding intertwines itself to make small silver stars. The bridle of this fine steed is a rich, dark havanna color with silver fastenings. Upon the browband is a single silver tassel and attached to this tassel is a small pearl. The reins are the same color as the bridle, though it is intertwined in silver. In the noble palfrey's mane, silver streaks and ribbons stand out against the pure whiteness of him. Similar decorations are in the horse's tail too.

Now, we come to the servant girl and her dun Lusitano. She too is decked simply, but finely made for a servant. She wears a short tunic and breeches, both of which are white. About her neck is a small silver chain necklace with a pearl attached to it, like her mistress'. Upon her right wrist is a small silver bracelet. Her blonde hair is pulled up into an elegant bun, fastened their by a silver clip. A few choice, curly strands hang about her neck and a few small curls frame her pretty face. She too has a small nose, but her cheekbones are not as high and as pretty as her mistress'. Her ears are slightly larger too, but her eyes are just as sharp and clear as her masters. They are a light green/blue framed by long eyelashes which make them beyond beautiful to look upon. Her lips are less rosy than her master's.

The Lusitano is decked much like the Andalusian. He has silver fastenings upon his bridle, and a small tassle placed upon the browband, but no pearl is attached. The reins are also silver intwined. The saddlepad does not have the silver tassels, but it is midnight blue and is embroidered in silver stars. This faithful steed does not have silver streaks in its tail and mane. Attached to the back of the saddle, hanging at the sides of the dusky brown steed, slap two small chests, small enough to be carried comfortably. They are simple oak, but their locks are silver.

They converse with each other quietly in French, glancing up at the towering castle. As they near to the gates, they break off their conversation and the servant girl falls back behind the lady.

The gate-master catches one of the silver intwined reins and begins to speak to the lady. Suddenly she jerks the rein from his hand and speaks to him in clear, non-accented English. "Do not lay a finger upon me or my horse. I swear to you that I shall stand here and answer all questions you ask of me, but do not touch me or my steed or my servant," she speaks harshly. He backs away a step and begins to question her. When he seems satisfied he raises the gate and the lady and her servant enter Camelot.

First announcement: We are looking for a new Queen and King for the Castle! If interested, please see the message posted in the Castle! (Kings, post under the message for Queens, it applies to you too.)

Queen of the Amazons and Queen and King of the Elves are now available for competition for the title! They will be evaluated under the same criteria as that of Queen and King of Camelot. Please see notices in the appropriate area.

The towns of Fairfield and Stonegate are now open for business! You may create a shop for either stonegate or fairfield, and it will be posted once approved.

I would like to set up Camelot as different provinces, elect a governor of sorts of each, and in each are different towns, estates, etc. There will be two to start with.

There will soon be a Guardian's Cave board, which is where the guardians will hang, and anyone who wants to ask them a question/suggestion/whatever may post it there addressed to the appropriate guardian.

::Late in the evening, as the full moon shone over Camelot, giving it a rather pale tint, a light chaise pulls quietly up to the gate. A stout, shabbily dressed footman agily jumps from the tail to awake the gatekeeper with numerous shouts and clambering. After convincing the gatekeeper that the resident of the chaise was friend, not foe, the heavy iron-clad gate opens...::

--Kat had slept most of the way...it was dark and the dull clip-clop noise of the horse and squeaks of the carriage lulled her to sleep. She was jarred awake by the screeches of her footman...Jameson was always loud. Hastily, she checked to make sure her clothes were not in -too- horrible a state of disarray. Pulling aside the dingy lace curtain, she watches as Camelot's impressive gate opens..making various complaining groans about being 'awakened' as such an hour. She tucks a stray strand of hair {one that her nurse missed in coiffing her hair this morning} behind her ear with her right hand before stepping lightly out of the chaise.--

::It had all begun two weeks ago...her titled father had called her into his chambers. "Katrina," he started, with his thick accent. "You must learn the way of the world child...staying here, in our country, is stunting you. You are independent for sure.." At this, he laughed. Both Kat and her father new she was almost -too- independent. "But you are naive, it is true. I've arranged for you to stay at Camelot...sans servants, my dear. I shall provide you with a salary to live on, but this is all. You will make mistakes, you will gain friends and enemies..you may come back or you may never..." He trailed off here..and spent the next ten minutes discussing the transport plans before dismissing her. Katrina was thrilled...she was growing tired of her stifling hometown and her boredom was spiraling her toward more destructive pursuits quite unlady-like. Two weeks later, she was on her way.::

--A flush of excitment tainted her cheeks a light rosy hue. She was thrilled to finally be here..even the air felt different. As a habit, her hand flew to her necklace, a jade strand imported from the east. Her slippered feet barely made a sound as she crossed the cobblestones toward the main hall. Switching her small carpet bag to her left hand she prepared to knock with her right. Jameson quickly dropped her trunk to do the deed for her....a habit, it was obvious...but she held up her hand and hit the brass knocker herself. The door opened and she was ushered into a warm hall. Introductions were made to the wary nightwatchman, and she was escorted to a temporary chamber. Her nursemaid followed under the pretense of making sure the room was up to par..but it was obvious the old woman was simply fond of Katrina. A fire was started, her bags were unpacked, farewell kisses and tears exchanged, and Kat was left in solitude. For the first time. Wearily, she drifted off with one final thought...."Tomorrow is another day."--

She leads a white satllion, whom is also looking around, obviously searching for the stables. He wanted a rest. The elven woman clucks at him and he follows her reluctantly. Silently she heads for the stables.*
