i love you girls!
you all picked up right away on the exact points i was trying to make. you see it...then again, you see it because you are self-aware women and understand your natures. then again...it doesn't seem so difficult to understand, does it?
obviously, to my friend, it is.
and med hit the nail right on the head when she mentioned the catharsis through a harnessed emotional outburst.
when i said that the hormonal flux is uncontrollable, what i meant is that they hormones themselves and their monthly levels are uncontrolled by us. we can't just say "okay, this month i will not have my period. i will not experience pms and bloating and all the other hormonal imbalances that occur." this happens without any intervention from us. our bodies do it by themselves. we control this no more than we control growing a third arm.
that is what i meant about it being uncontrollable. we can, however, harness it, utilize it, and exercise self-control and reason. it gives us a different perspective and clarity of thought after we have experienced catharsis. therein lies our female power.
and there's no way to explain to him what we understand intrinsically. there is no rationalizing with an emotional, irrational person.
how ironic, that us as the "weaker sex" are dealing with a male who is everything that he scorns us for being? as soon as i get over my anger and hurt, i'll enjoy a good laugh.
