Subject: Buddhism and reincarnation thingy moved to top Author: storm [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 05:31:44 05/23/01 Wed there isnt as god as far as i know because the budha (their teacher , the one who started the whole religion off) taught them not to hold on to things, or idolise objects, as they lead to bad karma and the wrong path to enlightenment...or a path away from enlightenment. He becameaware that his followers at one point were becoming too attached to him and taught them that eventually he would die, and they should not mourn, but remember his teachings etc. So there isnt a god, but there was the person called Siddharta Gotama (the buddha i just talked about) who started the whole religion.
