Ethanol-gas in a car made to use straight gasoline may nearly double the consumption. But Chrysler had some kind of 'smart' fuel-management a decade ago. Spiked gasoline will stand a bit more turbocharger boost without detonation. And getting away with more boost is about as close to something for nothing as it gets--if--using that tech to run boost-pressures that high hasn't been forbidden by the Politburo there.

**Serious question** At least at this distance, the demonization of fossil-fuel ("non-renewable") and the apotheosis of "renewable" energy--appear to be articles of faith which come from California. Take away the issue of whether the Anointed or the unworthy are making money, and agricultural ethanol is most certainly a renewable fuel. So what's the problem? RKBA! Regards, all.
