You are quite correct, the Jews had been there for thousands of years. They lived alongside the Arabs(Palestinians) though they never got along. It seems as though both groups claimed the "Holy Land" as their own.

There never was a "Palestine" State. The Palestinians never owned that land. When the Holocaust occurred, many more Jews immigrated there, which the "Palestinians" didn't like. In fact, it was the Arabs, themselves, that, in many cases, SOLD the land TO the Jews. The Jews bought the land and, sometimes, made the Palestinians living there leave.

Funny thing is, you never hear those Palestinians ever blaming the Arabs for selling the land to the Jews. Perhaps, their history is a bit fuzzy as well.

The UN tried to solve the problem by dividing the area up, into "Israel" and "Palestine." The Jews accepted that. The Arabs did not.

Technically, the Jews were there first. In the modern era, they both have lived there. The difference is, that the Jews aren't interested in driving the Arabs off the continent.(THey can't, since they are outnumbered 30 to 1.)

The reverse isn't true, however. The Arabs are intent on wiping out every Jew there. This is evident by the half dozen or so attacks by several Arab states on Israel.

Isreal did NOT "take" any land from the Palestinians. The Jews were invaded, on at least three occassions, by several Arab countries. When the Israelis drove them back, they occupied land formerly held by Egypt and Jordan, inhabited by the Palestinians.

In other words, the land never belonged to the Palestinians. It was controlled by Egypt and Jordan, who surrendered it to Israel, when their own invasion failed to destroy the nation of Isael.

In short, it is a totally fabricated myth that the Isralis "took" land that "belonged" to the Palestinians. They both lived there. It was divided up. The Jews said fine. The Arabs said "Hell no," and have been hating and attacking ever since.

That is why there isn't a Palestinian State.
