I know the story all too well. It hurts. It hurts a lot. The only thing you can do though is let him go. MAKE him go. Or go yourself. These things never get better, no matter how much you want them to. And you're going to cry... Jesus, I thought I'd never stop crying. On and on it went for what seemed like years, but you know what is right. You know what you have to do. You HAVE to do it. The emptiness goes away. Eventually. The cold... the longing... it all stops. Eventually. You have to be strong. You have to get him out and away and wade through all the suffering and come out on the other side. You can do it. I know you can do it.
