i agree. just because we buy the stuff and are thus consumers does not mean we're not supporting a (mostly) independent artist (jhonen). yeah, i like the show, and i bought two of the shirts, and i, too, will probably buy stickers or a few toys, but i don't need EVERY single product that's created. and loco's right, the line between being a fan and an obsessive drooling maniac is pretty thin. unfortunately, because of how screwed up the entertainment industry has gotten, popular shows/movie series' are often not continued unless they become profitable in other venues.

example: when the james bond movies began, they were continued because the movies themselves were popular (by now, they are such an established part of our culture, that they can be used to create other products). now, look at something like rugrats. this show has been continued because of its sheer marketability (what is it at now, three games and two movies, and half a billion toys?). the difference is that in todays world, a popular form of media will not survive unless it can be exploited (harry potter is going this way, too).
