Here's an older
book I just finished reading that's full of well-supported,
provocative ideas.
Maybe some of
you have seen it, but if not, and if you enjoy a bit of really
satisfying mental exercise, you might like to check it out. He
really launches the reader into "wonder"ment. I'd like to recommend this book to you.
The skillful way
he traces the development of ideas & insights across time
& cultures is fascinating. For example, he finds some
evidence (a bronze serpent that's coiled 3.5 times) that to him
suggests existence of knowledge about kundalini in China
predating its appearance in India, which I find surprising, and
it seemed like the author found it surprising too.
I've read a
couple of other Joseph Campbell books, like Hero with a Thousand
Faces, but, at least for me, this is thee one! I plan to
let some time go by & then read it again!
