Subject: Sri Nerode and Yoganandaji

"Did your father meet with Yogananda when the Indian Ambassador visited Mt. Washington March 4th, 1952? Or was it Dhirananda? Kriyananda tells the story, as an eyewitness, that a person who'd apparently left Yogananda (a former disciple) came to the event and when YOgananda saw him he told him that he'd always love him, evidently not what the man wished to hear."

This is an interesting discussion. One further point to add is that in Kriyananda's book, The Path, there are 2 photos taken within a relatively short time of each other. One shows Sri Nerode and Yogananda turned toward each other and Yogananda is saying something to him. In the background is a woman who is looking intently at Sri Nerode and looks at him as though he were being given a great gift. Underneath the photo are the words: "'I will always love you', said Master to an old detractor."
Presumably the photo was taken at the very moment when Yogananda had said those words to Sri Nerode.
The other photo is of a group of people taken together inside the Mother Center. I guessed it was taken on the same night as the other photo because Sri Nerode is wearing an identical suit and flower garland. He is seen in this photo standing right next to Yogananda and more than any of the other souls in that photo, it is these two that are shining with joy and light, as though they were two friends reunited after a long seperation.
My understanding is that if this photo was taken on the same night and a little later than the first one, it gives us the clue that Yogananda's saying that to Sri Nerode had some effect and that the two had a reconciliation at least up until after that second photo was taken. If you look at it you will see what genuine expressions of joy those two are wearing in the picture. As the saying goes, a picture tells a thousand words..
