Good quote. Its wonderful to see how a scientist so sincerely expresses his wonderment at the inexplicable nature of fundamental existence.
At one extreme of experience how can anyone adequately describe the profundity of existence, of this universal Reality except to be awed by it and worshipfully, reverently study it. The approach of true science and the approach of true religion is toward the same goal, to discover, understand and live in conformity with the deeper secrets of this creation. One might argue that the way of religion is best, since that path already assures us of what Truth really is and where we are headed and how the inner, esoteric practice of religion through yogic ascendance can take you there. Whereas science does not accept what it cannot deduce from communicable proof and rational analysis. Yet both paths provide deeply satisfying avenues of approach, one suited to our thirst for knowledge from the point of view of intellect and the other the thirst for fulfillment from the point of view of the soul.
What is needed and what we are heading towards is the ideal combination of the two. Such a scientific spirit of inquiry combined with scientific methods like yoga together with the burning aspiration for freedom in everlasting joy that is slumbering in the breast of humanity is what will come about most succesfully in the future golden age.
This is the same spirit of inquiry and seeking that made the ancient Vedic seers great.
