As a scientist I have to reply. It is equal arrogance to hold beliefs contrary to the weight of evidence collected
by thousands of well trained historians, scientists, archeologists, geologists, etc. That early periods were scientifically primitive there seems little doubt. All of the ancient science literature of the East and all remaining artifacts indicate this, there is not a shred of anything else. I do often give history of science courses, and would claim to be well informed. One should not confuse the attractiveness of ancient myth to the psyche with historical authenticity. This is wishful thinking. At least science fiction and fantasy enjoy truth in labelling as works of the imagination. .
