UFO’s and aliens are a central theme in Paulsen’s book Sunburst – Return of the Ancients. The “Ancients” are the good aliens who are going to return and save humanity from the bad aliens who have been running the planet for the last few thousand years, although no-one else has noticed. These aliens are the hope of mankind according to Paulsen, and without then the earth will self destruct. The main purpose of the Sunburst community is not spiritual, but to act as a base station for the aliens. Even spiritual instruction is only at the aliens whim.

”The Builders are here to illuminate all of humanity and destroy the makers of war forever, but we have to help.

“Sunburst is a base station for The Builders. It is here that the Baptism of Fire descends, upon the decision of The Builders.”

This raises the questions of where these aliens, who Paulsen predicted over 20 years ago were about to illuminate all of humanity have got to, and why the Sunburst community, a base station for these aliens, broke up shortly after Paulsens book was published.

After all, you would think that someone who was one of the leaders of the great civilisation of Mu would have the leadership skills to keep a small New Age hippie commune together.
