How you love to twist the facts and change your position. No doubt these are very necessary qualities in a follower of the former alcoholic and mental asylum inmate Norman Paulsen.

"You will probably continue to make every attempt to find some way to dispute what Norman Paulsen has written."

Well, shall we look at what Paulsen actually wrote then:-

"A gigantic planetoid entered the Earth's atmosphere from the northwest. It quickly moved downward over the North American Continent on a collision course with the once-existing island continent of Atlantis. The huge asteroid, under tremendous pressure, exploded into fragments which tore through the Earth's crust and brought about the total destruction of Atlantis and its island satelites."

Would you like to dispute that Paulsen wrote this? Would you like to apply your usual spin to it? Perhaps "gigantic planetoid" actually means "little pebble" in your fantasy world.

As shown above Paulsen writes of a "gigantic planetoid" and an impact which destroys an entire continent.

The size of the asteroid which caused the extinction of the dinosaurs may have been about 1km (much less than a "gigantic planetoid"). This is thought to have left a crater about 180km across at the Yucatan Peninsular.

Here is a table estimating the effects of impacts of various sizes.

< 50meters < 10 megatons equivalent - meteors in upper atmosphere, most don't reach surface

75meters -- 10 - 100 megatons equivalent --- irons make craters like Meteor Crater; stones produce airbursts like Tunguska; land impacts destroy area size of city

160meters --- 100 - 1000 megatons equivalent ----- irons, stones hit ground; comets produce airbursts; land impacts destroy area size of large urban area (New York, Tokyo)

350 meters ---- 1000 - 10,000 megatons equivalent ----- land impacts destroy area size of small state; ocean impact produces mild tsunamis

700 meters --- 10,000 - 100,000 megatons equivalent ----- land impacts destroy area size of moderate state (Virginia); ocean impact makes big tsunamis

1700 meters --- 1,000,000 megatons equivalent ----- land impact raises dust with global implication; destroys area size of large state (California, France)

These collisions are of course very small compared to Paulsens "gigantic planetoid".

More data is at this site.

The impact which Paulsen writes about would have been possibly the largest in the Earth's history. We would not be here now had it occured. Furthermore evidence would be overwhelming and indisputable. You have not produced any evidence of such an impact.

As for your claims that when you wrote of the Ice Age ending overnight you actually meant gradually, what you wrote is in the archives for everyone to see. The fact remains that the Ice Age ended over several thousand years, starting well before the time we are talking about. During that period there were, of course several minor cycles. None of this is in any way evidence of the existence of Atlantis.

"If there are still glaciers today, does that mean to you that we are still in an ice age today?"

It is quite possible that we are currently in a warm period in a longer Ice Age. There are some geologists who believe this may be the case.

As for your claims that the myths of all indigenous peoples support Paulsens fantasies, this is simply nonsense.
