I agree with you this is a very strange thing to do . So what are you suggesting exactly? Kare and some other SRF people have access to handwritten letters of Dr Lewis and Sarolananda different from that of the book. There is only 2 explanantions:
1 - the publisher of Durga's memoirs would have made up quotes and attributed them to Doctor Lewis and Sw. Sarolana.
2- someone have edited the original letters and removed these specific quotes. Is this possible?
