Punk and hip hop have both lost the qualities of what make them music. They both only include lyrics about parties and sex now. Hip hop has totally taken out the mid range of sound so that you can only hear it with super tweeters and super subwoofers. Lil john has even made lyrics something of the past. Now all the bands that call themselves "punk" try to act tough and wear tough clothes but they just look and sound like whiny 13 year olds. All the beats for their songs are the same. And the guitar they play requires no skill. There are exceptions to all of this, however only a few. If you want to hear good guitar in rock, listen to children of bodom, if you want to hear good lyrics in rap and hip hop you are gonna have to reverse time about 5-10 years, if you want to hear good lyrics in rock, they are still out there but not in punk hardly, and not in a lot of mainstream music. I wish people would try at their arts instead of just overpromote and win fans as a popularity contest.
