Subject: A single organisation

The Secretary of State has confirmed his view that "having one organisation – with strong regional presence – rather than a series" seems to be the right way forward.

However, the Board of West Midlands Arts is concerned that there would be no checks and balances within a single organisation to support regional issues, were a leadership with a strong centralising agenda to be appointed.

Do you support the creation of a single organisation? Do you have any concerns about the loss of regional independence? If you do, is it your view that such concerns are outweighed by the potential benefits of access to increased resources?

Not enough detail to answer ‘yes or no.’

Do you have any concerns about the loss of regional independence?
Very much so: regional arts boards work for regions, will the new ACE?

If you do, is it your view that such concerns are outweighed by the potential benefits of access to increased resources?
What increased access? Again not enough detail to hand.
