He shot up. He called out to her, the croon slightly pained at the snap his wings gave to break the fall and at the sting of both the ocean and the rain, though the latter was clearing. He flapped furiously to regain altitude and his wings caught, by complete accident, a thermal - rare in this kind of rain - and he rose. He managed to zoom up and over her, talons outstretched dangerously low to her back, and getting lower. He rearched out with his chocolate tail. His head was stretched almost low enough to touch hers. His position was of both love and business.
