When Doran sees his sister burst out of the trees, he chatters angrily over his shoulder at her. She had nearly drowned his goddess with her carelessness. How dare you! But the thought leaves his mind as he sees Kilana again. Like an obsession, her emerald form fills his mind in a multitude of lovely images. He sends them forth on the wings of song, dancing in the air in loops and whirlings over the water as he calls out in his youthful but strong alto of the power she has over him, the shining of her hide, her supple grace, how much brighter she shines than any other green, and then how there was no other green, merely reflections of the one before him.
