Sorry to hear bout candy. Don't know what happened, but I will say that does not happen often. Actually, I've never heard anything like that happening at his shop.
Usually, he forsees circumstances happening, and will ask you or at least let you know there could be a possibility of something not working out right as planned. For example: it was a possibility that Mali's windshield would get cracked when she got her new cage, and he was right. At least we prepared ourselves for that possibility before hand. Scott's been in that business for a long ass time and he knows what he's doing as far as chassis' go. I admit that he is "ruff around the edges" as far as his charisma goes, but that's just the way he is, he's old school.
I'm not taking sides here b/c there's always 2 sides to a story. But, you are the one who forget to leave your keys with him, and didn't someone recommend that your cage be installed before you had it painted?
We really hate to hear about what happened, b/c you're someone that we recommended to him. What does that make us feel like??? We feel badly about that.
