From the 1st day Jc emailed me weve talked just about every night ive seen him on instant messenger.I consider me and JC good fiends because of all the conversations on line and at the 2 outings i was able to make where he is present.JC introduced his self in person at Hallsville when we had taken Outlaw out.Competion brings out the worst in people especially when its secretive...but aint it fun???

I have stated from the begining i like to see spots change via races but its real hard to gather everyone on one given day because of everyones work scedules.

I formed a commitee of people to make decisions at races so that no one can say things are biased like in the past..

Mali held #1 spot because they earned it...when they blew the motor it was a big fuss about them not eligible to hold a spot with no motor..No one challenged them even though they ere broke down but yet the "stink" still flew.

I asked Jamie if he would step down because of breakage enen though the rules that all had a chance to vote on didnt say they had too..Team Mali earned there glory no doubt.

I told Jamie that he earned what he had so i put up the fastest et to date spot. They held that till Frenchmans blistering pass came Sunday.

You compain about JC not having being beat in a race for the #1 spot...JC got that spot because committe members ruled that he earned it since he was the fastest running car at the time...everyone moved up a spot then..

After Andys pass that was faster than JCs he earned the spot the same way that JC did...Being the fastest running car in the club and at a club race.Andy was at a club function and noone was there to run agaist him...should he not be eligible because of that? Three committee members agreed that since the 2 top spots were judged on ets at that point it should be done the same...Andy is a committee memeber but was not in on the discussion.

Frenchy outdone that # but it wasnt at a club function so he didnt get the #1 spot ..but he got rewarded for his accoplishment with the fastest et to date spot.

I told JC of the way it was broken down and he understood...why cant you?

Im in this for the fun of it and i was on the brink of giving up and going into different endeavors with my spare time but the appreciation from the many racers and fans from this weekend showd that me my countless hours and own money out of my pocket to support the cause of giving heads up racers a place to do there thing hasnt been in vane.

Now as you read this you probably saying in the back of your mind that im the lowest "MF" walking the pits because of my decisions but if you sit back and think im one of the few that has "a set" big enough to attempt to bring all of the guys and gals that want to heads up race together.

Grant it im not perfect but who is...At least im trying to give heads up racers a place to play there game.

Last week or so the site has averaged 17000 hits a day minimum...Its not just one person causing this...its a fan base that everyone has grown...

Complete strangers came up to different members all day over the weekend...Brian with the galaxy was asked are you the owner of the hooptie from hell.....People came up to Team Candy and said man that really is a street car...is this the car thats called Candy...Andys car had comments about how radical it was and that a big cheif headed motor will fit in a Camaro...Hell some one even came up to david and said i won 4 bucks on labmouse on a bet.

I fell like the Vince Macman of racing...thanks to all that play the game...Things are looking good for next year...I couldnt have gotton all this off the ground with out you.

Eddie, When do you plan to announce next years schedule?

I just wanted to note that I am very aware of what it takes to keep a site like this going and I appreciate your efforts. I am finally beginning to get comfortable with follow the message board format as well (I more used to UBB type forums).

As a side note, I spoke to a few guys recently who also seem interested in joining as well.

First I want to thank everyone responsible for the great raceing for the cfm last weekend. Now I want to address the practice of awarding spots on the ladder by et posted during a club race. This is where I get confused. Is this practice only for top gun or only certain people? As I look at the ladder I see the quikest car at the bottom of the ladder being crapped on, and it is MINE! On Saturday of the cfm I posted a time of 11.24. Some may say that it was a fluke, but it ran three consecutive 11.2's in a row on Sunday. I would like to get a coppy of the new rule book because the way it looks starting on the second amber is a perfect reaction time. No offence sugar smacks your a nice person, you even waited for me down the track "ha ha". If the new rule of "a chase is a race" makes it into the NHRA rule book then the old hooptie might have a chance with Force! All bullshit asside me and the hooptie will be back with more boost, more converter, and more balls. I have a feeling that the hooptie will have a feast next time out. First some sugar smacks for breakfast then some hoghead chease for lunch and for an afternoon snack some grilled mouse stuffed with too much nitrous.

Thanks for the complements Hog Head. My earlier posting had no malice towards you in mind. I know that you would have rathered have a good clean race than win on a red light. I dont know if I can be out there at next race. I will probably install a spool and a good set of axles because I am running on stock axles and a stock limited slip with about two hundred thousand miles on it. Prety scarry! You forgot to mention that you ran the 11.24 with your co-pilot riding shot-gun!! ha ha I also don't understand how the spots were issued at the club races. I saw on the rules that you had to be challenged and race at the club event. I also saw that you could miss one club race(if you were challenged and couldn't show up) and keep your spot. Then at the club race last weekend I saw cars issued spots on ET alone. If that's the case you should hold #1 in your class. In my opinion I think people should make challenges and race for spots. But more importantly the rules should stay the same for everybody all the time.

Brian you are right and I am not getting in to that But remember that 79 Z28 Camaro on 93 OCtane gas has alot more in it to and as soon as she gets the feel of the car I will bring it on down to the 10.50 playing field with a small shot of spray. As for as everyone else the best ET spots where taken from the people that hardly ever show up to the club events. Technically you was suppose to challenge and race for the spots. You ran a better ET than David But you never ran him and he was there. But I am sure you will get it straighten out and going your way. As for as me and Amy is concerned you can have 3rd place you earned it She red lighted. A chase is race but thats not the way we want to be in that spot we will gladly step down and let you have it.

I stand corrected thought about the first outing of the Goat and you were right I was wrong J.C. and Mali lined Up Motor to Motor and Mali fuel pump went south around a 100 foot out and J.C. won. The second outing J.C. ran Frenchy and frenchman won J.C. was haveing NOS problems or something and I wounded my motor also It did not like the 400 shot I tried to give it. Sorry

Hey eddie just to let yall all know we had a good time. I know i am making a late post but i had to go straight to houston as soon as i was taken out in the second round. But we had us a hoot. well i will say i probably will not be racing for no more spots also cause the old has to come out and the new is coming. small block power and going to be proud of it.so anybody looking for a good running engine give me a holla its for sale in my car. 3500.00 firm sell itor keep it for a boat anchor which ever comes first.also saw some good passe laid down from a couple of the members and must say looks like i am headed in the right direction with mine. see you soon.

He actually gained from the possibility of containing more cylinder pressure without gasket failure. This equates to running more nitrous which equals more HP. So the answer to your question is "yes", he "can indirectly" gain more power by using the copper gaskets, vs composition gaskets. The only reason I brought it up in my post at all is because he was so against using copper gaskets earlier on. He did have a legitimate argument. The composition gaskets would serve as a "fuse" to prevent failure of more expensive parts, but the better approach is to stay on top of your nitrous tune-up, so detonation never occurs in the first place. By the way, when are YOU going to come run with the "Big Dogs".

J.C. was not showing his times or playing by the club rules at the time so No I would not run him. Where is your car I love smoking SS Chevelles asses. The second thing you had wrong is when J.C. and Mali lined up Mali went through the lights first. Then Frenchman ran J.C. at the next club event and Frenchman outran him Granted J.C. had problems with the car but he lost it would not have helped him anyway thats the day frenchman ran a 9.73 and who the hell are you talking to about racing and bring their money.

The closest race this whole weekend was between Bryan and Keith. They raced their 1 ton fourdoor dully's for fun. Well Keith holeshoted Bryan!!! Bryan's reaction time was .184 but Bryan pulled Keith through the traps at a 16.94 to Keith's 17.10. But according to a Long Time Street Racer from way back when....Keith beat Bryan on reaction only so Keith won that battle LOL,LOL,LOL. It was one hell of a race...
Info to whom it may concern: Bryan will be at Evandale with Candy if you really want to see his beautiful baby pull tires off the ground and run his true times. So he said anyone how wants a Candy Spanking come on he will be there. Hell we will even give you directions it is a great track to run on so bring it on.
Frenchman you are the man you did it congrads to THE MAN and it was nice meeting the whole family too. They were very nice Jason. Be proud you did it Batman it was a good run I watched it from the tree!!!

Oooooooohh, looks like I struck a little frenchie nerve. You go ahead and compare your maxxed out nitrous times to my maiden pass motor only times, if it makes you feel good. The real comparison would be... French - #3500+ - 10:10s (572 BBC)..... Andy - #3500+ - mid nines and less to come (565 BBC)! You know, I forgot to mention the copper head gaskets and aluminum dash on your car, too. Is that more of your street car accessories? To think you went to great pains to prove me wrong about copper head gaskets.

It doesn't feel too good to be bashed, does it? Maybe you should think about that next time you get the urge to bash someone else. I doubt you can refrain from it because it is your true nature. Just the way you bashed Todd and his brothers cars without a clue as to who they were. His first time on the board and Frenchie has to slam him. Club events are held every mounth where all the spot holders come and run for their spots or times. Yall choose not to show up so go cry somewhere else or take your spot back. Get an eye exam, my friend. X was wearing twin chambered Flowmaster exhausts... I call 'em real exhaust mufflers unlike those "muffler substitutes" that your Yankee-built drag car wears.
The true compression ratio of X is 11.51:1; not 12:1 and still runs 40 degrees total timing with a hot engine running pump gas while posting a 10.14 @ 134 mph.
100% of X's interior did indeed burn. Others have seen it piled at the door of my shop. If the (2) missing doorglasses bother you, I'll add the 16 lbs X 2=32 lbs to the car when X decimates you. The only reason it wasn't intact is because I haven't decided as to whether or not a full cage is going in. (You won't have to worry about this for quite sometime)
ET DRAGS or ET STREETS are the same tire; lest you think that the grooves make a difference. I think that you've even posted that before. I'll make sure that X is wearing ET STREETS when X stomps you.
Why don't you bring your mega-dollar corner weight scales to the Dec 6th race and prove to yourself that you're getting your ass kicked by a 3500+ lb street car. So, "Your opinion doesn't spell shit in anybody's book... especially when your 1000 hp Big Chief-headed engine ran a pathetic 9.50 @ 146 mph. X kicked your ass by .700 second and 9 mph. French, you missed your one and only chance to beat big chief! My car is no more race car than yours and it weighs a chunky 3475 with me in it. I have the digital scales to prove it (very expensive 4 corner scales). On my last pass, we put well over 50 pounds in the trunk trying to get the old hardened 10.5 M/T street ETs to bite, to no avail. Big chief was making "WAY" too much power. Therefore I was well over 3500 pounds on that pass. All the things that you are bragging about that your car can do are the very things that are keeping your car from it's true potential (it's ashame I have to tell such a smart person that). My car is mini tubbed, but the back factory seat is still in it. I am sorry you are offended that my car on straight motor can run comparibly with your car "maxxed out". It is the nature of the beast, and in my case, the nature of the black beast. Would you feel better if I told Eddie to let you have the top gun spot? At least you will have it until I get back from work and legitimately beat you...again! Yeah, you ran a good time. But you had to stack a huge dose of nitrous on your car to do it. I only got the spot, because I showed up, and you failed to. What are you going to do when I start spraying mine? Stack another nitrous system on yours? You are peaked out, and I have only just begun... and you know it! That is why you are offended. Lesson #1 to learn, "there is always someone faster". That goes for me, too. I don,t have a problem accepting that, but I don,t think I can say the same for you. Flash Flood off of Ball Lane. (courtesy of the Alex Daily Town Talk) -- Frenchman, 20:32:20 11/11/03 Tue

The Alex street & drainage dep't had to activate the storm water pumps on the north side of Alexandria Sunday to rid residents of an unexpected "flash flood." Water samples were taken as large amounts of saline were identified in the gushing stormwater which had originated in a subdivision off of Ball Lane. Further investigation netted positive results; The mass of the deluge was emanating from the shop of Andy Vandevelde.
Paramedics equipped w/ life jackets entered the scene and rescued him from his entrapment and were somehow able to slow the tears from his face. Rescuers could not positively identify the cause of the phenomenon but select words were understood to be, "FFFFFFrrrrenccchhmmmmmmannnn..... FFFF.... 8ttttttt.8888888 "T"-111111111
Backup ambulances from out of area were summoned and arrived with electronic diffribulators and the last words that were observed were, "CLEAR!!!!"

for all You haters, and labmouse fans.FYI. the pass witnessed sunday afternoon was not the grudge race between the Labmouse and Jen in the Buick. It was a test pass with Jamie [never ben treed]at the wheel.He was testing a new combo and didnt get time to retest and turn it over to Jen.
Also the Mouse was doing tuning on the NX system[I was spraying an untuned 100 shot] against the Buicks motor only.
We will try againt next month to settle this ongoing grudge.
PS. the pass went like so Black Buick= .158 reaction, 1.778 60 ft., 8.044 1/8 mile, 12.679 E.T. @ 105.419
#563 Labmouse= .139 reaction, 1.615 60 ft., 7.237 1/8 mile,11.43 E.T. @ 113.649

Good time weekend -- donnie, 11:16:33 11/11/03 Tue

I must say its been along time sence the old track has seen that many cars and faces. And I must say the track was hooking better than I have ever seen, Talked with alot of people who said the same I know I had the best 60 foot and best full pass I have ever had at that track the old slomaro ever put a small amount of air under the front tires. Seems a few of the big power guys had some traction problems but all in all the old track was hooking. Frenchman, thats was a hell of a pass Like I had told you in the postings before the race I was glad to see things payoff for your time and effort spent on the car, Andy, [Black Baby] she gonna rock when she hooks and reguardless of what anybody is saying we all know it, Amy, made us all proud Sat. why to go girl!! Candy looked very stout and is one very bad ass TRUE full-weight street car. Well I used up enought space but theres lots more I could say I was just glad to see all the old faces out again I had almost forgotten how much fun it could be just hope it keeps going, Thanks Fletcher for giving me shot at your title, First time I ever met this guy but he is a real sportsman, I said "how bout it" He said "hell yea no bulb no wiggle lets just get it on" Thats racing the way it should be and man ant it fun!!!!!!!!

Just wantd to post & say thanks to all of the racers & spectators that came out to La raceway this weekend. Sat was an awesome crowd followed by sunday knocking the attendance of the charts, so to speak. It was really nice to see so many folks from the Alexandria area, not forgetting all of the racers that are local to the track. The promods were awesome. Bill, just a note the car looked awesome. Frenchman, what can I say? An incredible pass! Andy, car is looking great, was glad to see it's debut. Bryan, car ran good & sounded good. Can't wait to see the upgrade! Overall, it was an excellent day. Was really great to see wayne running the chevelle. Over all it was great day! Hope to see more in the future at La raceway!

i think we as racers have lite the spark in his but to show we will suppoet him if he at least preps the track...

I want to thank those guys and gals that came out per request from me to put on a show...Without you this could not have happened...

With all the bad happenings out there late last year Art and crew were really ready to give up...

From the first tornado 12 years ago to the one last year has put them in bad sprits.

The race almost didnt happen until a group of racers confinced him to put it on and see there was still life there.

To all bracket guys...yall are very talented to be able to get those cars consistant to tun the same number and all but the general spectator doesnt understand why one car leaves before the other thus they dont come out to watch thus the tracks dont profit much...

They wanna see Drama...smack talking...head up fastest man takes the win...

Many members of our club came in and gave it all they had and the crowd went wild...They came to see our members battle it out and see the promods shake the ground.

charlie hasnt made any races and has outer prioritys so we decided to have a battle for the spot

Amy laid down a 11.55 pass....fastest pass the car ever has made....She out drove bryan today

Hooptie from hell went 11.24

Hoghead went 11.3?

Labmouse went 11.33

Since labmouse was #1 the others battled each other and the winner was to take on labmouse

well belive it or not every race was lost on a red light

1st pass in the burnout he pushed a freeze plug
got that fixed and next pass he was all over the track still went a mid 10

andy made another pass and it was worse...Bill Doucet sugested to ad some ballast to rear and so he did...broke the 9 second range easy with smoke a flying every where

that pass it was noticed he had a tire rubbing...done some mods and he was off again......

Trans brake applied...5000 rpm pills and wham....blistering the tires...hell let me rephrase it burring them off the rim he lite up the boards with a 946 @ 146 mph,

andys car with fresh tires and ladderbar adjustments be a bad dude

andy had the most power out there today naturally asperated no doubt...Thanks for the show..

Since all the spots were given based on et..andy steps up to #1 and all others move down a notch...this will put that class in order

The Frenchman will be at Eunice tomorrow. (Sunday's Ford-Chev-Mopar meet) Eunice, La/ about 12 miles west of the intersection of I-49 & 190. Check your map.
I drove "X" today and unleashed the "Dr. Feelgood" nitrous tune-up from a 100 mph roll on the street. The adrenaline still has my hands shaking. You'll have to drive a real "Bad-Ass" car to reel him in. Good Luck, Big Will! Looking forward to racing ya again.

There is no tentativeness about me. I have zero passes on my car, with complete new combination. French knows it to be his only chance to beat me before I get chassis set up and combo dialed. That is why he called me out. What I meant by my post is when I am ready to challenge, It wont be for #2 spot. I'll be calling YOU out. When I ran my car before, it was with 250 less horsepower and a different chassis setup. All I need are a few passes to see what it needs. I never meant to get on the message board and run my mouth, but french had to go and insult me, so that led me to where I am now. We are all going to race sooner or later. By the way, your car has plenty of new technology in it, too. It is well refined over the years, and the 389 claim is part of the "poker game" no doubt. While it may not be prostock technology, your car is packin some plenty good parts. From what I have seen, it may very well be the fastest, door slamin, street legal Pontiac in the country. Never-the-less, we will race soon enough. I am done talking. I'll call you out when I am ready. Just keep an eye on the board.

The only car that gets any respect from me is JC's GTO. The rest of you fools can come on with it. This is how its gonna go.
Let's start w/ the slowest contender first, that grandma 4-door with the mismatched turbo on it. Without an EFI on it, he's simply wasting time; and yes he'll get the .10 second for every 100 lbs of porkiness that he may have in excess of X's weight..... just as it'll be offered to EVERYBODY ELSE, you too Andy V.
Next slowest is Candy ass. This car hasn't even broken into the nines and he's taking foolish challenges; go figure.
Next slowest contender would be the King himself, Andy V. who has never even made a pass w/ his 565. Heck his car's chassis couldn't even cope (run straight)with its former 482. What is he smoking?... "Save me some, please!"
Then there would be the infamous "Taz" with the store-bought hot-rod that is "oh so bad" I'm tire of hearing of his alleged 8 second pass to the point that I could just puke. "Bring that store-bought, plastic-fantastic, mid-9 second, stretched, nitroused motorcycle out and show me how it is "oh-so-bad"; getting spanked by a 3650 lb pump-gas-sippin street car on TRUE 10.5'S." What a joke!
I'd invite Hillbilly Jen to the party but there's only so many hours at the event and I don't want to be a "track-hog". Besides her speed is unapproachable. (he he he)... I'll see you shifting/ racing from the stands on Sunday. Just stand up and open your mouth... that should be conspicuous enough for anyone to find you.
The King of Speed will be there all day Sunday to strike embarrasment in all contenders. Shall we call it a "date?"

You seem to think that Taz's Busa is unstoppable; I don't subscribe to that. Heck, Wiggle told me today that most of the smoke emanated from the green Busa is engine smoke, not tire smoke. He also volunteered that it's not an 8 sec rig, only a high 9 sec rig. So, in any case, I'll run anyone's Busa. I think that the fastest one in the Alex area is the blue one jockeyed by Wayne's lightweight buddy, Little John. I hear that he can whip Taz's bike 8 out of 7 days of the week, so I'll call him out instead. Besides he was running behind SS-747 & "X" once and was quite vocal about the results of the sprint. Funny you should bring that up [the blue Busa], Because Taz told me last night that a blue Busa is coming for you this weekend, But he can only be there Sunday. The little monster is getting closer. After several problems it seems that they are all cured. We pulled the engine off the dyno at about 7:00 Saturday night. Made a couple shake down passes this afternoon. I've still got some small things to finish up, but don't worry we'll be able to show those big rats what a liitle mouse in a little truck is capable of. After long deliberation, I've succumbed to the conclusion that racing most of you for a few bucks is futile at best. With that in mind, I'll race you for egos only.
Eddie called last night pleading for me to exercise patience and let our race happen in (2) weeks at the rescheduled Ford-Chev-Mopar event. That'll be fine with me. The defamation of your ill-founded ego will suit me just fine.
However, there's more than just your car that I'm interested in defaming. I'd like to have Andy V's 69 Camaro, and Taz's "oh-so-bad" nitroused Hayabusa on the menu as well.
How about it Eddie? Do we have time for all three? (My STREET CAR won't require a "cool-down" period) ha ha ha.
