ok it weighed that from the factory. take the heavy ass wheels off and put light wheels and tires on it.. bet you will loose what 150 + pounds, the leaf springs depending on mono or multi leafs...60 to 100lbs,decklid 28 lbs,hood what 40 or 50 lbs maybe more.. didnt have one to weigh vs fiberglass. but hey what do i know. i raced a stock suspension slapper bar and leaf springs 69 camaro bb car all steel including the hood and decklid back in 1990. had a fuel cell in it and electric pump other than that it was completely stock. it weighed 3100 lbs. on scales at hallsville. iron headed bb and a turbo 400 trans and had disc brakes on front. ill send eddie a pic of it so you can see for yourself.

also i can show you 2 backhalved 69 camaros with alum headed bb that weigh under 2900 with no driver. one has all steel floor with steel tubs and factory bumpers,but with aluminum dash and lexan side windows it weighs 2895lb.! the other one.. well it weighs a little less with factory glass all away around and 2 full nos bottles in car. door glass even rolls up and down . it just all depends on the material used mild steel vs chrome moly and 2x3 tubing vs 1 5/8 round.

isnt there about a 200lbs difference between a sb and a bb?

not going off what ive heard.. but what i know.. o wait i know nothin just a average guy from stonewall.
