Aya, I’m proud to say that I will soon see my son, Patrick Daniel, celebrate his 40th birthday. I had only one other son, Paul (38 years old), that suffered through some of the ill effects of Agent Orange and we were never able to have any more children. . . Although, we do seem to be the “favorite” aunt and uncle of many nieces and nephews and we are a very close family!

As you say, you would call that a miracle. I would call my entire life a miracle, an adventure, something that could never be planned and I thank God for what He has given me even through the hardships. One thing that you learn in war is that life is precious but also that one shouldn’t be afraid of death. . . . Who knows? Maybe it a continuing circle and we’re doomed to go through the whole thing again. . . . . . . Thanks for writing, Aya/GB . . . . . . . . Beanie
