As a veteran, you know the cost of war is not measured only by the casualties, but also by the grieving families left behind through the decades. Many of the family members still seek out those who were with their loved one, on his last day of life, for an understanding of what happened. It is interesting to note they are most comforted to know he died in the company of good friends who still care and remember him.
